The films submitted this year stand out for their remarkable craft and maturity. The domestic entries feel instantly relatable, drawing from familiar worlds of school, family, and friendship, while the international entries bring visual delight through illustration, animation, and inventive storytelling. Most exciting of all is seeing how filmmakers of the same generation approach the world with such distinct perspectives and imaginations.

This year’s selections explore a wide range of themes — AI, history, family, and freedom — with ease and wit. Each film offers something unique, whether in its storytelling, performances, editing, or direction, and the creative voice of each filmmaker comes through clearly. Some films make us laugh, others invite reflection, and some move us in unexpected ways.

Above all, the “Ready~Action! 12” selections reflect the real growth of young creators who tell their stories with honesty and confidence. Through films marked by well-crafted screenplays and memorable performances, we invite you to see the world through the eyes of these emerging directors and find yourself in their stories.
